Yes before we go further, here’s the long awaited Auspicious Hair Cut Days in May 2023 !!

This 20th May 23 Saturday, we will celebrate Saka Dawa !!

Saka Dawa is an important Buddhist festival celebrated by Tibetan Buddhists on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month. It is believed to be the most sacred month in the Tibetan calendar, as it marks the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of Gautama Buddha.

During Saka Dawa, Buddhists engage in various activities such as prayer, meditation, and acts of generosity. It is believed that any good deeds done during this month are multiplied in their power and effects. Many people also practice fasting and refrain from eating meat to purify their body and mind.

Saka Dawa is a time for reflection, purification, and spiritual renewal for Tibetan Buddhists around the world.

There are several practices and activities that are commonly undertaken during this time. Here are some suggestions on what to do during Saka Dawa:

  • Make offerings: Many Buddhists make offerings of food, water, flowers, and incense at temples or monasteries during this time. It is believed that these offerings generate positive energy and merit.
  • Practice generosity: Saka Dawa is a time for practicing generosity, and many Buddhists make donations to charitable causes or engage in acts of kindness and compassion towards others.
