Yang Gong Ji Day

As with my usual yearly posts,  just wanted to highlight some days in the year which are not too favourable for metaphysics activities – the Yang Gong Ji Days.

For those who are interested to know, Yang Gong was a famous metaphysics. In the olden days, metaphysics is an art which is fiercely or secretly guarded by chosen few. This all-powerful secret was deemed as threat to an emperor. Hence he thought of a plan to to round up all the well-known masters in China by holding a “thanksgiving” banquet in the palace. Unknown to those who went, the wine served was poisoned. Yang Gong was one of the masters who met with this untimely death. To honour him, 13 dates in a year (Chinese calendar) were poetically written in the classics as dates which are not suitable to perform metaphysics activities. It is believed that if unheeded, it will have some impact to the health of the practitioner.

These days, some people regards these dates as not suitable for all forms of ritual or prayer session. To enable all those who are interested to avoid this, I’ve re-converted the dates into our usual calendar for ease of reference.

Don’t be too gloomy or worrisome after reading this ….. there are some texts that say that actually Master Yang managed to escape the ordeal through the help of a soldier. He was thus the one who actually list out these dates to help others avoid certain negativity that he had calculated. Maybe maybe, right!!

Here’s wishing you good luck everyday as always!
